The Design Showcase will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the DCC Great Hall. Students from multiple engineering disciplines (Computer & Systems, Electrical, Industrial & Management, Materials and Mechanical Engineering) solve real-world design challenges for industry, entrepreneurs and academic/medical partners. Guest Speakers:
Jonathan Underwood, Director of the Health Innovations Incubator & Technology Center (HII Tech), at the Center for Disability Services will kick off the event with a captivating presentation titled "How Design Drives Empowerment." His presentation will begin at 2:15 p.m. in DCC 318!
Jonathan is a seasoned engineer with a passion for leveraging technology to improve lives. He leads applied research and product development to improve the quality of life for disabled and aging individuals. With over eight years of experience, he has managed international projects from concept through delivery in the railway, aerospace, defense, and metallurgy industries from R&D to manufacturing. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from RPI and is a Design Lab alum
