The Design Showcase will be held on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the DCC Great Hall. Students from multiple engineering disciplines (Computer & Systems, Electrical, Industrial & Management, Materials and Mechanical Engineering) solve real-world design challenges for industry, entrepreneurs and academic/medical partners. Guest Speakers:
Steven Garrant will kickoff the session by sharing his career trajectory that led to the founding and success of DAPR Engineering. Steven started his career at Energizer Battery as a manufacturing design engineer. He quickly moved into program management for multiple industries, including a startup venture for automotive batteries. Steve is proud to bring with him three DAPR mechanical engineers and Design Lab alums. Each will provide a brief description of their engineering role at DAPR, present highlights of recent projects and insights on how their Capstone project and RPI experience influenced them in their current roles at DAPR.

- Tim Schwed – Design of Cryogenic Superconducing Magnet System for an MRI
DAPR Engineering (Nashua, NH) is an engineering consulting firm that focuses on Industrial Product Development, Custom Automation and Turn-Key machine build services. DAPR was founded in 2014 by Steven Garrant’96 and has grown to over 65 engineers, including seven RPI alums. In 2021, DAPR joined ReBuild Manufacturing to be a part of revitalizing American Manufacturing.
