Testimonials

Thank you for teaching me real world engineering experiences!

"Throughout this internship, I've used knowledge I learned from Capstone, especially with many previous experiences I have with the LED test station.  I was thankful to have you as my project engineer, with the weekly meeting we have, I learned how to ask meaningful question regarding my project, always seek for improvements, and follow engineering design steps.

Thank you again for teaching me the real world engineering experiences!"

Capstone my most beneficial class!

When talking to my manager last week, he stated that I had a lot of the skills that "they dont teach you in school" -- how to deal with difficult people, how to plan a project by measurable milestones, how to inspire others, how to give tech presentations to non-tech audiences, and so on. Funny enough, these are the same skills that were reinforced in Capstone.

I cannot stress enough that capstone was the single most beneficial class that I have taken in college in terms of advancing my career and that the feedback from my instructors was invaluable. In a job (mine at least), people are either too busy or not vested enough to regularly critique the non-technical aspects of career development, so it was nice to have the experience.

Thanks a million!

“Thanks a million. The students have made a measureable impact on the R&D group at Snap-on and I will be considering the capstone program for future work. You did a great job as well in a position more difficult than me or the seniors.”

Best Course Ever!

Thank you!

"I hope you are doing well this school year! I don’t know if you remember me, but I took your Capstone course Fall of 2018 (Stephen Bader Co. Team). I felt like I owed it to you to reach out, because the lessons I learned in Capstone were invaluable when giving a presentation to senior tech. fellows today.

I was working with a team to develop methodology for a tool that ranks parts based on the current technical risk of printing a given part additively. Working with the complex logical flow diagrams in Capstone definitely prepared me and put me in a good position to take the lead on developing the logical flow diagrams for my team’s methodology. That combined with knowing how to put together a good, audience targeted presentation made all the difference."

Well Done!

"We gave Rensselaer’s Design Lab students a challenge with minimal direction, basically: use a cell phone to map a building’s interior. They exceeded our expectations by mapping our office building — with no prior knowledge of the floor layout. That demonstration showed successful data collection, sensor analysis and selection, system design and integration, and software prototyping. BAE Systems FAST Labs R&D is proud to support your work."

~Dan Zwillinger, Chief Scientist, BAE Systems

Great Job!

Capstone has taught me a lot about presenting in a technical & professional setting.
